Looking for some makeup inspiration for New Year’s Eve? Not to worry, these tools will cover you for a sparkly and wild night.

First of all, nothing is more captivating than a shiny gold. Second of all, nothing makes it more piercing than adding black to the gold. Imagine putting these two colors on your face – people will be looking at you all night long.

The image I’m getting is a mixture between Pat McGrath and Dolce & Gabbana. If you don’t remember that incredible moment where Pat McGrath introduced her new gold pigment (Gold 001) by applying it on a bunch of models (Hailey Baldwin, Bella Hadid, Lily Donaldson…) and strangers in the Tuileries park in Paris and having Patrick Demarchelier photograph that moment – otherwise known as her Paris golden hour – then there’s some serious recollecting to do. If you still don’t remember, head over here. So, the gold eye shadow is a must. I’m also biased towards a simple cat-eye and my go-to inspiration comes from Dolce & Gabbana’s makeup look in the SS15 & AW15 fashion shows.

Pretty much this is where I’m getting at.

Finally, throw a red lip in for good measure if it goes well with the outfit, some dramatic mascara to make those lashes stand out, splash a dash of Chanel’s iconic N°5 and you’re good to go.
