Paris Style

Palais Royal

September 6, 2015

When I reflect on the last days of summer I can’t help to realize how quickly time flies. It’s inevitable and there’s nothing one can do about it. I think the last part is the worst. We all want to commemorate and enjoy every second of our precious lives (at least I do). I especially wanted to do this the last few days I was in Paris before leaving to NYC. I really wanted to complete all the things I had left to do, visit places I had been meaning to, and go back to the favorites. So the other day, I decided to take in one of my favorite places in Paris before I left for NYC.

This place is called Palais-Royal or the Jardins de Palais-Royal. Usually it’s very quiet, especially on a warm August afternoon when all the Parisians are out of the city. Not many tourists know about it either, which is a plus. It’s just a magnificent place to relax, read a book next to the flowers and under the trees, grab a café at Café Kitsuné, and really appreciate Paris’ beauty.

On days where I know I’m not going to walk a lot and want to elevate my look a little, I wear heels. It just adds something extra and sometimes compliments the outfit better than flats. Also, during summer, I avoid wearing tight jeans and heavy shirts. I usually opt for more flowy and loose clothing that way it doesn’t feel uncomfortable against my skin on hot days. However, I do love a boyfriend jean that fits perfectly yet is slightly baggy. During the summer it’s very easy to put on your boyfriend jean and pair it with a light, loose, linen shirt (pattern or no pattern). Add some heels, sneakers, or sandals, a killer neutral bag and you’re good to go! I find this to be a versatile and very easy-going, casual and simple, effortlessly chic outfit.
