Experiencing winter in NYC isn’t always the most enjoyable. Anyone who lives there can say they are blessed by a snowstorm each year. The first few moments where the snow sticks to the ground, making everything look peaceful and enchanting, are indeed delightful. However, once the snow turns into slush in a busy city like New York, it ain’t so pretty anymore. There’s a constant struggle of not really knowing what to wear to avoid getting your clothes dirty from all the mush, and especially trying to jump over it in the sidewalks.
All things vintage inspired in terms of clothing are not to be missed. Fashion, after all, is mostly about pulling pieces from past decades and transforming it into something new and contemporary. There are also some looks that are so iconic and distinctive that have remained present throughout the years, such as David Bowie, Madonna, Jane Birkin, Brigitte Bardot… the list goes on. Not only do these people speak to many people on some kind of personal level, but they also inspire one to play dress up once in a while and switch up their look a bit.
Every season calls for a new trend, and it seems to me that with every season my style seems to change in one way or another. Lately, it’s been about the retro, 70s inspired pieces, which in my opinion, are the best. It’s all about showing some bare skin, the big flare, the puffy shits, and really just trying to live it up like the hippies used to.
