Take It Slow

June 12, 2016

It’s stupefying how time flies. You watch it flash before your eyes, like a car on a speedy highway, and there’s nothing you can do about it. Sometimes it feels like nothing will slow down, although somehow you still feel like time can go by quicker, and sometimes you want it to. When time passes slowly, you want it to pass by quicker, and when time passes quickly, you want it to pass slower. It seems like a love-hate relationship, like there’s never an in-between for the two. Time is an illusion, just something to hold accountable for what happens in your life. Sometimes it feels like time takes control of you, rather than you taking control of time. To do the latter is quite simple: remember that nothing is set on stone and to take it slow because life is short. Take advantage of every second, every minute, and every hour. Nothing more, nothing less.

Walking is always a good answer for taking some time off to enjoy specific moments and to connect with the world around you. It’s an opportunity to realize what other people are doing, what’s going on in the city you live in, and so much more. It just takes a little initiative to put the one foot out of the door. But once you’re out, there should be no going back until you can’t take it anymore. For one of these walks, I decided to look a little less casual than usual and amp my look more. A black midi-skirt with gold studs from Michael Kors just about does the trick, and pairing it off with a lace up top from Urban and some low heels made me feel more confident and ready to take on the rest of the day.
